The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
